ntroducing our favourite non-iPhone gadget of the year. Design studio Art Lebedev is accepting orders for its Art Lebedev Optimus Maximus Keyboard. Each of the Maximus' 113 keys is a miniature OLED display, making every key entirely dynamic and customizable.
Hold down 'Shift' and every key becomes capitalised; preview font styles or re-map every key to suit your application. Night hawks shouldn't fear the dark either, as the Maximus packs an ambient light sensor, dimming and raising each tiny screen's brightness depending on the surrounding conditions.
Pre-orders have begun, and with an asking price of US$1,500 a pop, the first reported cases of keyboard envy have appeared.
