FW06 will kick-off on 31 October 2006 at the Arts House at Old Parliament. Into its 19th annual installment, this event will showcase a series of comprehensive fashion-related trade exhibitions and trade shows featuring the latest designers' collections, brands/labels and swimwear apparel from the region.

SFW06 is the premier trade show for the regional apparel industry. After the opening gala dinner, Inspirations, SFW06 and will be held in three main locations. All the trade shows, including The Designers Show (TDS), Apparel Asia and Intimate Asia will be held at Singapore Expo.

To capture a wider audience, the competition shows will be held at Raffles City Shopping Centre. To conclude the event and to lighten the mood, the party shows will be held at Zouk club.

This meant black popular music became a lot more accepted. Soul and Motown were the main musical styles providing good fast music with a catchy beat which people could easily dance to.
