Banana Guard

T
he banana peel is outdated. Originally designed by Mother Nature to protect the fruit from insects, worms and bad weather, the banana peel has failed to keep up with newer, more modern threats to the integrity of the delicious banana centre.

Luckily, a team of Vancouver scientists has developed a new protective layer that will allow banana owners to finally guard their fruit from unwanted bumps, bruises and accidental crushings.

The lightweight, plastic BananaGuard ($4.99 each, or five for $19.99) is big enough to fit most any banana, plantain, or red dacca. Now you can stuff a banana into your backpack without fear of a mess. Simply put your cylindrical fruit into place and snap the lid shut.
